Lunar Roving VehicleThe Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) was a "moon buggy" used by the astronauts of the Apollo 15, Apollo 16, and Apollo 17 missions.
The electric-powered LRV was folded into a small package to fit into the Lunar Module. It unfolded itself once deployed on the moon and transporter two astronauts, their gear, and samples they collected at up to eight miles an hour. References:
