SojournerSojourner was the first Mars rover. It was launched aboard the Mars Pathfinder on December 4, 1996 atop a Delta II rocket. Seven months later, Pathfinder landed on Mars and a day later Sojourner rolled off the lander and onto the Mars surface.References: |
